The Bad Beat Jackpot is a special prize awarded to a player who loses a hand with an exceptionally strong poker combination. The main part of the jackpot goes to the losing player.
Bad Beat Jackpot prize pool distribution:
- 35% to a player who loses a hand with a strong hand
- 15% to the player who wins the hand
- 15% to the other players at the table
- 35% – goes to the new jackpot fund
Mechanism of Bad Beat Jackpot fund formation
The Bad Beat Jackpot is funded by the poker room commission on every hand played. 10% of the rake collected is allocated to the jackpot prize pool.
For example, if a $0.60 (50.08₹) commission is charged on a $10 (834₹) pot, then $0.06 (5.01₹) (10 per cent of the rake) goes towards forming the Bad Beat Jackpot.
